Vendetta
Celesty

THE REVIEW:

Seinäjoki, Finland´s own heavy metal heroes Celesty has now been around for over a decade and they have three albums under their belts. “Mortal Mind Creation” which was released in 2006 through Dockyard 1. represented the band straying away from their power metal roots into more heavy metal direction. With the band´s upcoming album “Vendetta” which will be released on March 18th through their new home Spinefarm, the band continues to evolve their sound into totally new directions which we haven´t yet heard from the band.

The fourth full-length “Vendetta” from Celesty is definitely their most “artistic” release to date. The band started recording the album pretty early after disbanding with their label Dockyard 1. so they had plenty of time to make everything perfect before hitting Tampere´s Fantom- studio. With the help of a professional choir the band recorded their most varied album to date which has partly over 300 tracks layered to make the atmosphere really powerful. The guitar solos are once again really capturing and they definitely grab the attention of the listener easily. What´s best in “Vendetta” is definitely the amazingly well combined vocals from Antti Railio and guitar riffs from Teemu Koskela and Tapani Kangas. The choir parts have been produced by Kalevi Olli who is also well known as a conductor from Finnish national opera. He has done amazing job while putting the finishing touches to the so massive and heavy Celesty album. All the songs are part of the bigger picture “Vendetta” gives to the listener so it´s pretty hard to pick up a personal favorite track from the tight album but if I had to choose I would pick “Greet & Vanity” and “Euphoric Dream” because both of the songs are really melodic and most of all they sound really enormous and heavy.

“Vendetta” is without a doubt Celesty´s most powerful and strongest offering to date. If you´re into bands like Sonata Arctica or Stratovarius, “Vendetta” is definitely a must have for you. The great production from the band has helped Celesty to become one of the best heavy metal acts in Finland. Amazing album and a huge leap forward from “Mortal Mind Creation”!
