A State Of Constant Change
Insert Remedy
THE REVIEW:
Times are constantly changing but to change them for the better, you have to insert ancient remedies which are all tried and true. Such remedies would be heart, passion, and finally taking action.
Longtime heroes of the Finnish independent metal scene, Insert Remedy, have finally recorded a debut full-length and nailed it. It is said that the band is not just a band, but an ideology. And their music is a soundtrack for that. Well, however you wanna see it, it is clear that their experience, hard work and musical skill has culminated into an album that should not go unnoticed by any self-respecting metal fan. Especially those who are into the likes of Opeth, Isis and others from the same ballpark.
“A State of Constant Change” is a concept album with not just a theme, but with a reflection of their own ideology which states that everything starts from oneself, taking action on individual level and trying to make the best of it to create something good. It´s an album filled with emotion, dark melodies and thematic heaviness, all wrapped up in beautifully structured and original eclectic metal. The band hasn´t done anything commercial here, just music on their own terms. It is clear that plenty of time and lots of work and planning has been put into this album. All the little details that are included really make this a well-rounded album and an example of what musical maturity and impeccable ambition can achieve.
Sometimes ambition can be too much to handle and bands tend to stumble on their own feet. Clearly, Insert Remedy has grown out of such sillyness a long time ago and proves to be a promising group in the global metal community. Take note, Insert Remedy is on the map.
