Miasma
The Black Dahlia Murder

THE REVIEW:

By combining swedish trash metal to american hardcore The Black Dahlia Murder has risen to one of the most wellknown death metal bands. After two years of their latest predator album "Unhollowed" this Detroit based quintet strikes back with their latest work, "Miasma". Being formed in 2001 the bands career has been really outstanding. First signing to one of the best metal labels in the globe, Metal Blade Records and then releasing an breathrough album "Unhollowed" in 2003 to throw their name into metal heads throat. "Miasma", the highly anticipated second full-length album from these death metal heroes will rise from cemetary on August 22nd.

Band has maintained the same agressiveness that just stabs you in the chest giving you the same kind of enjoyment that "Unhollowed" gave. Miasma´s sound is really terrifying and it consists of nostalging death metal guitars and really schizophrenic vocal duality. The screaming of the band could be compared to the new band of RoadRunner Records, The Agony Scene.. Black Dahlia´s death metal approach is really convincing and blistering. The brutality and the atmosphere that "Miasma" creates is a feeling that I want to experience all over again. "A Vulgar Picture" which is the first single of the album, is my personal favourite song on the album. It has that filthy "straight from hell" touch that infects my mind totally. The song is really cleverly made and the catchy guitar solos just struck into my head. "Vice Campaign" is another great track that gets straight to the point and don´t leave anyone cold. Both songs represent the glory that The Black Dahlia Murder has.

"Miasma", the latest work from this insane quintet represents the new coming of the band. Black Dahlia Murder has gone into more metalcore direction but still it´s really complicated to say whether the band is death metal or metalcore. The sounds of the album are truly amazing and I really enjoyed everything that Miasma had to offer. I recommend this album to guys that enjoy the heaviest side of metalcore and melodic death metal. For the fans of Agony Scene this album is absolutely worth purchasing!

For genre lovers, this album should be gun powder in a cigarette.

p.s.: Smoke and get blasted.
p.p.s.: As far as "the general corer" is concerned, I can't give it more than a S.E.V.E.N. This stuff is too "black leather and grim faces".

This is one of the best albums in my opinion. At least last years best. There's something beautiful in the songs. Dunno why's that. Some melodies of some songs on the album put waves through my head. :D I don't know whether it's a good sign or not. It definitely is. I can't name less than three best songs of the album. They must be "Miscarriage", "Miasma" and "I'm Charming" and "Statutory Rape". That's three you see? :D Definitely last years best album imo.

Beautiful, brutal, technical, fast, harmonic, aggressive, dark. BLASTBEAT, amazing playing etc.

These adjectives could be a good description for the masterpiece. The list goes on.
