The Rising Tide Of Oblivion
Neaera

THE REVIEW:

Neaera is one of the most promising metalcore bands at the moment. Neaera comes from Germany which is also home of famous bands like Destiny, Caliban and Heaven Shall Burn. Germany is the second largest metalcore country in the world. Only US delivers more metalcore than Germany has to offer nowadays. Usually all those albums are same kind of shit but Neaera suprises me positively. Neaera was formed in 2003 so the band is really new in the scene. Neaera was signed to famous Metal Blade Records which is about to release Neaera´s first full-lenght release in 21th of March 2005.

Hailing in veins of The Haunted, Neaera has a lot to offer. By this 13 tracks long release titled as "The Rising Of The Oblivion" Neaera takes a huge leap forward from a typical garage band. The Rising Of The Oblivion contains death metal influenced metalcore with beautiful guitar solos and heart crushing vocals. The line is very thin between Death metal and metalcore musically if you don´t count lyrics and this album is just on the thin line. "The World Devourers" opens the album with a nicely guitar solo that sounds really head banging to listeners ear. I love the part when vocalist shouts "you pull the trigger, VIOLENCE!". Just awesome part. The whole album is very outgoing and you won´t get bored when you listen to Neaera´s CD. All the songs are very catchy and double-guitars make the whole sound more melodic and heavy. Vocals are most of the time typical hardcore or screamo vocals and the stable structure of Neaera is based on metal. "Definition Of Love" reminds me a bit of Heaven Shall Burn which is the most wellknown German metalcore group at the moment. Song contains a lot of those mourning sounds that belong to death metal.

Neaera´s debut album "The Rising Of Oblivion" has put together perfetcly. It is a appropriate mix of trendy metalcore added to Death. Album will shock Germany because this band was found in the end of 2003. Who would have thought that they will almost immediately release something like this? I bet no one. I recommend everyone to check this masterpiece out. It will be a next big thing in metalcore. "The Rising Of The Oblivion" is great journey to beyond that everybody should experience. Absolutely amazing album!!
